Winterton Painting II, Inc. is a commercial and residential painting company formed in 1981, by Mr. William H. Winterton. Mr. Winterton retired in 1999 only after establishing a long list of Residential Customers as well as General Contractors and Friends. Mr. Winterton believed strongly in doing things correctly, emphasizing traditional values of Quality, Craftsmanship and Integrity. To this day his motto “Have it Done Right” is still used as the company logo.
In 1999 the company was purchased by two long term employees; Christopher M. Harney and Carl F. VanDresar. Mr. Harney and Mr. VanDresar have been in the painting industry their entire lives. Both were 2nd generation painters. With their combined knowledge of all aspects of the trade, Bill Winterton was confident his values were to be preserved.
Winterton Painting II, Inc. operates generally in the Central NY region; serving Oneida, Madison, Herkimer and surrounding counties. With a painting crew between 15-25 individuals and a full time office staff of 4 Winterton Painting can adapt to handle demanding schedules.

The purchase of the company by Carl VanDresar and Christopher Harney resulted in a fully diversified second generation company. With Carl’s background in commercial and industrial painting he brings to the table a vast knowledge of coatings and techniques, coordination and sequencing of jobs. He also oversees equipment needs and has an understanding of which crew member to apply to certain tasks. Combine that with Christopher’s background in residential painting, drywall finishing, wall coverings and staining; you will be sure that each job will be carefully planned to receive the best possible crew and materials.
Our crew has years of experience. The majority of our employees are at least 10 year veterans, with some of the employees having been with the company for over 20 years. They understand the quality that is expected in their work. Any new hires are required to work alongside the long term employees for training and evaluation. This assures that new employees have the required craftsmanship and values expected of our crew.
Our office staff cannot go unmentioned; they have years of combined experience in accounting and coordinating projects. Customer satisfaction is our goal, all calls are attended to, all estimate requests are scheduled in a timely manner. All jobs are reviewed prior to commencement of work. Generally color and material selections are documented before work begins and changes are put into our records after completion. This record keeping is very valuable to us and our customers. All material and labor is posted to each project and reviewed after completion. This job costing is Essential to keeping cost down for future bids.
Our company is a member of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA), The Syracuse and Mohawk Valley Builders Exchanges and The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce. We are an EPA Certified Lead Safe Firm. And our company has been featured in several magazines over the years, including the Sherwin-Williams publication Professional Painting Contractor (spring 2008 Issue Vol. 18 #1) and Construction & Communications Magazine (The Short List Top Projects Edition 2006).

When any of our jobs are complete, cleanup is our top priority. We will remove tarps and plastic, any and all trash that is produced from painting and we will also vacuum your floors. In addition we also return any furniture we moved to is original location.
